School Houses
To inspire a healthy sense of competition, students of St. Josephs School have been allocated one of the four houses which symbolize the school’s values. Students develop a sense of belonging and a feeling of unity in being a part of a specific house. The four houses are named after the four gems.
RUBY HOUSE
Motto: Unlock our limitless Potential; as we are RED
The colour red is adopted from Ruby, a valuable gem. This colour symbolises love, courage, sacrifice and honour. Students of Red House stay strong and united all the times. They are creative and highly talented and this is the secret of their success in various inter house competitions. They are enthusiastic, thereby upholding their values always. Students of this house are known for their togetherness and face adversities as a team. They are the jacks of all trades performing to the best of their abilities in sports, cultural and academic as well.
EMERALD HOUSE
Motto: Discover the world from your own doorstep.
The colour Green is an indicative element of fertility, stability and endurances. Being the colour of nature, it represents growth and harmony. Students of green house are dawn to earth, sociable and responsible. Surprisingly, no two emerald stones are ever alike – each one possesses a unique set of swirls and sparkles that catch the eye like a mysterious gem. To suit its name , all the members of this house possess unique talents both in academic and sports as well. All the members are rounders and are consistently good performers in academic as well as sports.
SAPPHIRE HOUSE
Motto: Striving towards excellence with humanity in our hearts.
The students of the blue House, referred to as Sapphire are known for their highly intellectual skills, stability and unity, symbolising the blue colour. This House merely makes itself known in terms of positively, patience and understanding. Students of this house are triumphant in many co – curricular activities, be it quiz, debate, seminar or sports. Their greatest asset is their confidence and determination. This house members possess immense intellectual vitality. They are committed to their goals and are outstanding performers and achievers. Although they are specified for intelligence, they can summon gigantic courage in the other fields as well.
TOPAZ HOUSE
Motto: Be Respectful, be Responsible, shine ON.
The students of this house are dynamic, energetic, determined and dashing race. Led by the belief they are more than just “an ordinary group of students”, they truly stand out. Yellow being the colour of one the precious gem stones, TOPAZ, they are shining example to the students of SJS. Every student of this house is indeed to be a part of a house that shines with the qualities of perseverance, faith in one another and the ‘Never Give – Up’ attitude. Students of this House are generally described as impeccable, par excellent, dependable and spectacular.
